Shanie and Cristhian Valdez, owners of El Cafecito

Made With Love / Hecho Con Amor

Born from a Dream, Rooted in Culture

El Cafecito didn't happen by accident. It was built on passion, hard work, and a deep love for Latin American food and culture.

Shanie Valdez — a bilingual entrepreneur — always dreamed of creating a space where community could gather over great food and honest coffee. Her detail-oriented nature and deep understanding of people made her the perfect visionary to bring this concept to life.

Cristhian Valdez grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, and spent years in the restaurant industry before putting those roots into every dish and every cup at El Cafecito. His culinary heritage is the soul of this place.

For us, excellence is not a trend — it is a legacy. Rooted in the rich soils of Latin America, every bean we source carries the stories of the farms and families who cultivate them with unwavering dedication.

“This is El Cafecito. Authentic, uncompromising, and deeply connected to our roots.”

What People Are Saying

Why Springfield Keeps Coming Back to El Cafecito

“On a trip to Springfield, ran across this place. Wow — what a happy event. Food is awesome. Had the Chichaloco Burrito and a hot Mexican coffee. Both wonderful and served in traditional plate/mug. Clean. Delicious. Please give this place a visit. Highly recommend.”

Tara Howard

“Do it. Just do it. I'm from Florida, here visiting family. My standards for food and service can be hard to meet in other parts of the country — but this spot right here is the MOVE for real. Excellent everything. Super cute. I'm so grateful we went here.”

Kaitlyn Allen

“One of my new favorite places in Springfield! I love the effort to be authentic and have inspired Latin foods. The coffee is delicious and unique. I like that they have a filling menu for breakfast or lunch, but also lighter options. The cafe itself is super cute and cozy — a great place to sit and get work done.”
